Discover and Explore Public Posts -Unit 2

Visual qualities - It shows that the women are all stood by the window, longing for the men to get home. It also shows, to a degree, a proud look on the main woman's face whilst looking out the window towards the solders.

Design - It has a simple message and emphasizes the word "GO!" swell as having this underlined. It also has a small child clinging against the woman, which I'm presuming is the mother's, leg. This will show that the child is concerned, however, it may also give the message that she is mesmerized by her father going to war.

Tag lines or slogans - The tag line only specifies women telling them to go. This will make the men think "If I do this, I will impress the women when I come back".  Again, with the woman's proud face, it may also make them feel that they're doing something good for their family and that they will be proud and pleased with him fighting for our country.

I think the message behind this is that if you go to war, the women will long for you and love you when you get home.

Visual qualities - It has a plain, eye catching background that stands out from the outside world. The two sentences are almost as if they're printed in the style of a headline, so give emphasis of the point you are trying to make.

Design - This design is quite plain and simple, much like the message they're trying to give. It has a structured point with some simple facts, so people will read it because there isn't a lot to read. It also has "GET OVER IT!" printed in black, so this may attract your eye to it because it is a dark color, where as the rest of the poster is quite vibrant. It may also suggest that it is wrong because darker colors may physiologically make you feel as if you're doing something wrong if you can't get over the fact some people are gay.

Tag lines or slogans - The tag lines are both very small and simple sentences, so you can see their view without having to 'read between the lines'.

I think that the message behind this is that we live in an advanced society, however, there is still homophobia, so we need to get rid of it. Also, it could also show that it isn't our business whether two men get married, just the same as if it wouldn't be our business if a man and a woman got married.

Visual qualities - It shows a child crying due to smoking. It is shaped in a bag like shape, so this may seem as if the child isn't being heard or that by the parents smoking, it is suffocating their child. The child crying makes people feel upset, especially parents, so if a parent smoked and saw this, they may stop because they may feel that their child could relate to how this one is feeling.

Design - This design has a very clear message behind it, smoking is affecting your children. The smoke seems very vague at first, but when you notice it and start to concentrate on it, you will notice that the child is breathing in the smoke through his mouth and nose whilst he is crying.

Tag lines or slogans - This has no tag lines or slogs because the message seems pretty obvious.

I think that the unconscious message behind this advert is that by smoking around your child, it is essentially child abuse.
